On December 6, on the initiative of Democracy Today NGO the RA NA deputies Sargis Khandanyan and Sona Ghazaryan met with a group of young people of Tavush and Artsakh and the representatives of Yazidi Community.

The topic of the discussion was The Role of Youth in the Establishment of Peace .

The Chair of the NGO Gulnara Shahinian, highlighting the role and significance of the youth in the establishment of peace and security in the conflict zones, has noticed that the existing instruments in the UN peace resolutions are almost used. She has indicated the Resolution 22-50 of the structure which refers to the youth. Gulnara Shahinian also informed that there is a desire to localize the Resolution provisions in our country.

In the establishment of peace the MP Sona Ghazaryan has considered important the women’s involvement, and according to her, the RA Prime Minister’s wife Anna Hakobyan has already initiated. The MP told the attendees about the wide-scale activity of the NA delegations in the international organizations and stressed the importance of their work.

Sargis Khandanyan emphasized the role and significance of the parliamentary diplomacy. He has noted that the Armenian parliamentarians do their best not to adopt any resolution contradicting the interests of Armenia and Artsakh on the international platforms.

The main part of the attendees’ questions related to the problems of the communities. It has been noted that the strong border communities are the warrants of peace and security.
